In the Sierra Norte mountains of Oaxaca lies the quiet village of Santo Domingo Cacalotepec. Surrounded by dense forests and tall pines, this small, remote community is known for its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. The people of Santo Domingo, many of whom are part of the indigenous Zapotec culture, live closely with the land, following traditions passed down through generations. Each day starts early, as farmers head out at dawn to care for their coffee plants. With a deep respect for nature, they use sustainable farming practices that protect the forest and ensure the health of their crops, preserving both their environment and way of life for future generations.
This coffee comes from a group of 20-25 producers in the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca. The coffee from Santo Domingo Cacalotepec is a true reflection of its environment, complex and full of life. Each cup captures the essence of the region, from the fresh mountain air to the rich forest soil. But more than just flavor, this coffee tells a story. It represents a community deeply connected to the land, where coffee farming is not only a livelihood, but a way of preserving culture and tradition.
