Kamagogo Coffee Factory was established in 1970s and is currently part of the Kiru Farmers Cooperative Society, with a membership of around 1,000 smallholder farmers. After delivery, cherry is sorted by hand, depulped, fermented overnight, and laid out on raised beds to dry where it is hand-sorted again for defects. Kamagogo assists local farmers with pre-financing and access to inputs and seminars on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). The washing station also features demonstration plots to help train local farmers on best practices for growing coffee.
